Program From victim to winner: Using one’s own capacities to get out of violence has been implemented since 2022. within Info and victim support service of Victimology Society of Serbia (VDS), as part of continuous assistance and support activities. The program is based on an approach that sees victims as active participants and partners in the process of change, not as passive beneficiaries of aid. Instead of imposing solutions, the program provides tools, knowledge and support that should enable people to make decisions themselves and regain control over their lives. The program is based on the synergy of strenghtening one’s own capacities for getting out of violence while informing on available system support and resources in local community, creating a comprehensive framework for sustainable change.
The aim of the program is to strenghten one’s own capacities to get out of violence and overcome the consequences of victimisation, while simultaneously achieving personal development and growth.
